Prospective Graduate Students
Prospective graduate students who are interested in interdisciplinary research across Molecular Plant–Pathogen Interactions, Plant Pathology, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Phage Biology and Genomics are encouraged to apply to the UCR Plant Pathology graduate program. For program-specific questions, please contact Manuel Perez at manuel.perezjr@ucr.edu. For questions about our research, you are welcome to reach out to Dr. Olawole at olakunlo@ucr.edu.

Undergraduate Students
Our lab values undergraduate participation as a key component of scientific training. Students join a collaborative team environment, gaining hands-on experience by working with graduate students, postdocs, and the professor. Dedicated undergraduates have the chance to pursue independent projects, with opportunities to present at conferences or contribute to publications. If you are eager to explore research, please contact Dr. Olawole at olakunlo@ucr.edu.

Self-funded Visiting Scholars
We welcome self-funded visiting scholars (faculty or students) interested in interdisciplinary research within our group. Areas of focus include Molecular Plant–Pathogen Interactions, Plant Pathology, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Phage Biology and Genomics. Applicants must clearly state their source of funding, and only those planning visits of more than six months (preferably 1–2 years) will be considered. For inquiries, please contact Dr. Olawole at olakunlo@ucr.edu.
